The brief.
JestXplore had dreamed for over a decade of escaping the ordinary, and in January 2025, after a year of planning, set out for the edge of the world. The brief was to tell that journey as a story, not just a trip: the dream, the waiting, the leap and then Antarctica itself.
The script opened on the view from an aeroplane window, and then moved into the footage from the trip.
What I did.
I took a week’s worth of footage, with penguins, icebergs, a polar plunge and kayaking among elephant seals, and found the gold, the comedy and the emotional moments without heavy crash cutting. I chose music that helps tell the story and underlines the emotional journey, so you’re truly invested in it by the end.
I also supplied the music as separate tracks, so the client could make small edits of his own.
